To make the most of the value currently locked away in your data, you must be able to build the information services you need from it.
Ardentia’s PAS Analytics solution does just that. It imports your iPM extracts into SQL Server and provides a series of pre-defined reports that allow you to analyse the data in a large number of ways.
These include:
- data quality reports
- reports by point of delivery (inpatients, day cases, outpatients)
- reports by specialty or consultant
You can drill up or down within the reports, for instance from all Consultants, to a division, down to individual Consultants. Wherever appropriate, suitably authorised users can drill through to the individual records behind any report figures of interest.
That way a great resource becomes an essential part of your strategic and management information services.

How Does It Work?
On a defined schedule Ardentia’s PAS Analytics solution automatically checks a specified folder on your system for iPM extract files. If it finds any, their contents are loaded into a database in Microsoft SQL Server.
Since this is a completely open database, well known in the NHS, healthcare organisations can use it as a resource in its own right to query and analyse independently of the functionality provided by Ardentia.
Alternatively, Ardentia has developed a series of reports in the NetSearch product distributed by its sister company Ardentia Search.
These include a wide range of pre-defined reports, by point of delivery, by specialty, by HRG etc. including tables, charts and dashboards.
It also however allows users to customise reports to their taste, changing row and column headings, changing drop-down menus that support drilling up and down through data, changing tables into charts and vice versa.
Equally, it allows users to run their own ad hoc analyses as they need. So they can check numbers of cases or any other measure, such as length of stay, for a particular category of patient: for example, of a certain age and sex category, from a particular geographic area, within a specific HRG.
By using NetSearch to search and index data, both in databases and in unstructured files such as documents, makes this kind of powerful analysis simple and rapid.
