Practice Based Commissioning – Dorset and Somerset

Ardentia’s Practice Based Commissioning (PBC) solution in Dorset and Somerset is another resounding success story for the company. Somerset are about to roll out the PBC module to 17 pilot practices around the County, a project which is currently on schedule and set to go live for the 25th of this month. Dorset are following closely behind.

The reorganisation of the NHS, with the current 25 Strategic Health Authorities being merged into just 10, is currently in progress. This will see Dorset and Somerset merging with the South West Peninsula (Devon and Cornwall) and Gloucester Avon and Wilts. Richard Caves the current IM&T director for Dorset and Somerset has been appointed the overall IM&T director for the new organisation. He will be reviewing the success of the rollout of PBC to the Somerset and Dorset practices towards the end of September. Mr Caves has promised a common platform of reporting across all practices and providers in the region. If the current project proves successful, which it currently looks to be, we could be receiving a fairly large order for end user licences in the not too distant future.
